For the past 20 years, I have cultivated an ongoing practice that weaves my artistic and creative process together with my soul growth and evolution. I have come to call this my Evolving Mural Practice and it has resulted to date in the ongoing and continual emergence of 10+ large-scale murals that cover various walls throughout my home.
While I may see or have a sense of what’s coming with regards to any of the murals, there is a deeper knowing that none of that can actually come into physical being on the walls until I am at a place in my soul process to be able to truly draw that energy down or up and root and embody it within my own flesh and being. Any time I feel stuck in my life, it is to the murals I return as I listen for what is wanting to come into form next and now. As I begin the process of adding paint to the canvas of the wall in those moments, a metabolization and integration catalyzes within and the new creatures and beings emerging usher me into a very lived realization of the next stage in my journey.
It has been 15 years since I last opened my front door to share this practice with chosen others. In honor of Calon y Ddraig’s Fall theme of, “Rise, Artist, Rise!” it feels like it’s time to do so again. So much has happened in those 15 years including a tornado that, over the last 4 years, has led to significant restructuring of my home both inside and out. While some of that restructuring has opened things in ways that are generative and have been needed to support me now, the shifting and changes have also left visible scars on her interior and exterior walls. These, too, remain visible along with the murals as a reminder of all we have been through together.
Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided as well as a scavenger hunt based on the murals and playful creatures that decorate the land that I tend. A variety of art products reflecting beings from these murals and those at the Healing House will also be available for purchase at the event. Come enjoy community and inspiration as we honor the thinning of the veil and the rise of the Artist within us all!
