Unburdening & Re-Centering

(Part 2 of the Summer Saturdays Workshop Series, “Managing & Metabolizing Overwhelm)

Sometimes overwhelm sets in because the baseline of our container is already full so that anything else that comes our way to process and metabolize just falls right off the top. A full baseline container happens for lots of reasons which can include: holding on to past hurts, guilt, and/or shame beyond where that may have been useful at one time; another layer of grief surfacing and ready to be felt and released; a soul retrieval in process (a disowned or exiled part knocking at the door to come home); and ancestral or past-life crowding and/or co-opting of your energetic field.

The hopeful thing about all of these situations is that they respond to intention, compassionate witnessing, and ritual and that is exactly what this workshop is constructed to offer. Using intention and mindful felt sense awareness in concert with focused writing prompts, reflective movement, and a simple mandala practice, this workshop will guide you through a carefully-scaffolded progression to focus in on what is ready to surface and be seen and released within your body and being. A closing group release ritual using either fire or water (depending on our Burn Ban status at the time) will allow you to walk out the door at the end feeling lighter and less weighed down as you release to the elements for recycling and transformation what you no longer need to carry forward.

This workshop can be taken as a stand-alone experience or as part one of a three-part series that includes the “Let’s Make Some Art: Building Containers” and “Calling in the Helpers” Summer Saturday workshops as well.
